Overview
MCTRL4K is NovaStar's sending controller for high-resolution screens: 8.8 million pixels, HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.2 inputs up to 4096 × 2160 at 60 Hz, custom resolutions to 7680 × 1080 wide or 1080 × 7680 tall, and HDCP 2.2. It outputs through 16 Neutrik Ethernet ports, each carrying 650,000 pixels with 8-bit content, and four 10G fibre ports reaching 10 km over single-mode fibre, two of them as backup. It supports redundancy between Ethernet ports, a Genlock input to synchronise several units, and up to 10 units cascaded. We use it where the screen is large or far from the control room.
